This statement is made in accordance with the requirements of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and applies to Salisbury Holdings Limited and Salisbury Workplace Services Limited, hereafter jointly referred to as ‘Salisbury Group’.
Salisbury Group has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to preventing it from occurring within our business and supply chain. Conscious that the offences of ‘slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour’ and ‘human trafficking’ remain a hidden blight on society, Salisbury’s Board of Directors, Executive Management Team, managers and staff members are fully committed to ensuring that neither slavery nor human trafficking is taking place in our business or supply chain.
Salisbury Group has a number of policies, procedures and processes that support us to:
- Identify and assess potential risk areas in our business and supply chain
- Reduce the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our business and supply chain
- Monitor potential risk areas in our business and supply chain
- Provide adequate protection for whistle blowers
Salisbury Group’s operational business is solely within the UK and accordingly our geographic risk of slavery and human trafficking is considered to be low. We see the main sector risks as being cleaning and maintenance. Our supply chain has a number of UK-based suppliers in these sectors. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all of our business transactions and relationships and we expect our supply chain partners to share this commitment.
In the last 12 months, we have updated our induction and training processes to ensure staff members are aware of the Modern Slavery Act and its definitions of slavery and human trafficking. We have ensured that our on-boarding procedure and employee handbook set out our policies and procedures, including our Whistle-blowing Policy. We have updated our supplier auditing process to seek evidence of steps taken to enforce anti-slavery practices by our supply chain partners.
These core documents, updated processes and the targeted awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking within our supply chain help us to ensure that Salisbury Group complies with the spirit and requirements of the Modern Slavery Act.
This statement is made in accordance with Section 54(1) of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for Salisbury Holdings Limited and Salisbury Workplace Services Limited for the year commencing 1 January 2019, as approved by the Board of Directors.
