Description of the solution
In 2017, Salisbury Group won a national contract to support one of the world’s biggest logistics companies with mechanical and electrical maintenance services. Our client has sites across the UK and our contract sees us use our capabilities to support them as a national local service provider.
We mobilised the contract in a very short timeframe, assisting our client in meeting their ambitious delivery targets. This demonstrated our ability to go the extra mile for our clients by mobilising complex contracts, even in challenging circumstances.
Through the contract, Salisbury Group meets high standards for maintenance and supports the client’s customer service-focused culture. We maintain mission critical assets, including the conveyor belts that are a key part of the goods flow process.
Our client has specific security requirements to guarantee the safety of its sites – including a necessity to clear engineers, managers and any subcontractors to an enhanced level. A process approved by the Department for Transport, it requires personnel to complete online training and pass an exam before being deployed.
We work in partnership with our client to enrol applicable engineers and subcontractor personnel onto the online courses managed by the client. As part of the contract mobilisation, we arranged for our engineers to attend each of the four airside sites across the UK to undertake online learning and an examination. To date, we have processed around 30 members of Salisbury Group staff and over 25 subcontractor personnel through this strict clearance process.
